An Electronic Program in Life Chemistry and its Applications Based on Transformative Learning for Developing Holistic Thinking Skills and Academic Engagement of Faculty of Education Prospective Teachers

Abstract

The goal of the current research is to develop the skills of holistic thinking and academic Engagement of Faculty of Education Prospective Teachers To achieve the goal, an electronic program in Life Chemistry and its applications based on Transformative Learning was proposed Accordingly, a research group was selected consisting of (148) students from the two divisions (Chemistry - Basic Education Science) in the third year at the Faculty of Education - Zagazig University - The two research tools were (the Holistic Thinking Skills Test and the Academic Engagement Scale),The research used the experimental method and a semi-experimental one-group design, where the two research tools were applied beforehand, then the electronic program was presented to the group, and after completion, the two research tools were applied later The results found that the students of the research group excelled in the Post application about the Pre application in the Holistic thinking skills as a whole and in each skill separately, and in the dimensions of academic Engagement as a whole and in each dimension separately, The results also found There was a positive correlation between the scores students on the holistic thinking skills test and their scores on the academic Engagement scale, and the research presented its recommendations and suggestions in light of the results reached.
