Content analysis of the third-grade middle school science book according to the dimensions of sustainable development of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine how much the third-intermediate science book's content incorporates the elements of sustainable development for the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The researcher used the content analysis method in conjunction with a descriptive analytical methodology to accomplish the research goal. Only the science textbook used in the first and second semesters for third-intermediate school pupils in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (issue 1446-2024) was included in the research sample. The first semester of the academic year 1446 AH–2024 AD saw the application of the research. According to the research findings, the social dimension had the highest rate of repetition and covered all social issues for sustainable development in the third intermediate grade science book.The subject of education and training was the most often repeated at a rate of 55.45%, with a heavy focus on development for the Kingdom's Vision 2030 at a rate of 50.01%. Since all economic topics for sustainable development for the Kingdom's Vision 2030 were covered in the third intermediate grade science book at a rate of 22.77%.the research suggests that the inclusion of these dimensions in the third-intermediate grade science textbook be reevaluated.of using the current study's findings to inform curriculum developers' and preparers' creation of the third intermediate grade science curriculum in a way that aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030's sustainable development components.
