The effectiveness of a proposed unit in science based on social constructivist theory in developing systems thinking habits among students of the first cycle of basic education

Abstract

The research aimed to develop the habits of systems thinking among students of the first cycle of basic education, through a proposed unit in science based on social constructivist theory; It consists of (80) male and female students from the sixth grade of primary school, and divided into two groups (one officer who studied the unit in the traditional way, and another experimental unit that studied the proposed unit "Renaissance scholars" that was prepared. The test of systems thinking habits was applied before and after, and the current research found a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the students of the experimental group that studied the proposed unit "Renaissance scientists" based on social constructivist theory, and the control group that studied the unit in the traditional way in the dimensional application of testing systems thinking habits for the benefit of the experimental group, and this indicates the effectiveness of the proposed unit "Renaissance scientists" based on social constructivist theory in developing systems thinking habits among students The first cycle of basic education.
