Program based on the Integrated Approach STEAM to Develp Creative Teaching Skills and Attitude towards Team Work among Chemistry Pre-service Teachers at the Faculty of Education

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on the integrated approach STEAM- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics- to develop creative teaching skills and attitude towards teamwork among chemistry pre- service teachers at the faculty of Education. The one group pre-post test quasi-experimental design was used. The instruments of the study included the pre-post cognitive creative teaching skills test according to the integrated approach STEAM, an observation checklist of the pre–service teacher performance of creative teaching skills test according to the integrated approach STEAM, and an attitude scale towards teamwork. The sample of the study included (14) pre-service teachers enrolled in the fourth year, chemistry section at Port Said Faculty of Education. The results of the study revealed the effectiveness of the suggested program in developing creative teaching skills and attitude towards teamwork of the study sample. In the light of these results, the researcher recommends impeding the integrated approach STEAM in science teachers preparation programs with different specializations at faculties of education as a part of methods of teaching, teaching school curriculum, microteaching and practicum as one of the modern trends in teacher preparation. In addition, this approach should be used in designing professional development programs for science teachers -pre and in service teachers- for the purpose of developing their creative teaching skills.
