A Proposed Strategy (5As) based on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Approach to Develop Analytical Thinking Skills, Immediate and Delayed Achievement in Nuclear Chemistry, and Achievement Motivation in The Official Secondary Languages Schools

The current study aimed to present a (5As) strategy that involves five stages: activate, analyze, assist, accommodate, and assess, which is based on the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach to develop the analytical thinking skills, immediate and delayed achievement in nuclear chemistry, and achievement motivation in chemistry. The study sample consisted of (62) secondary school students in the official secondary languages schools in Egypt distributed into an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=32). Results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups' mean scores in the analytical thinking test in all its dimensions and the overall test, the immediate and delayed achievement test at all levels and the overall test, and the achievement motivation scale in chemistry in all its dimensions and the overall scale in favor of the experimental group at (a=0.05). Results were interpreted, and recommendations and suggestions were provided which related to the study results.
