The Effectiveness of Dunkhase Coupled Inquiry Cycle in teaching science for Developing Higher Order Thinking Skills among First – grade

Abstract

 
The current research aimed at Investigating the effectiveness of Dunkhase Coupled Inquiry Cycle in teaching science for developing the Higher Order Thinking Skills among First – grade  Preparatory Pupils.To achieve the research objectives, a group of first year preparatory stage pupils (87) were selected and divided to (46) pupils in the experimental group, that studied the power unit assigned to them in the light of Coupled Inquiry Cycle, and a control group of (41) pupils, that studied the same unit in the usual way. The study tools consisted of the Higher Order Thinking Skills test. This tool was pre and post applied to the two study groups. The results of the study are as follows: There are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 01,0) level between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post application of the Higher Order Thinking Skills favour of the ex permintal group.
