A proposed program in health education based on some contemporary health issues to develop preventive health awareness and correct wrong health beliefs among students of the General Diploma in Education

Abstract

The current research aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a proposed program in health education based on some contemporary health issues in developing protective health awareness and correcting the incorrect health beliefs of the General Diploma students at the Faculty of Education. In light of that, a sample of research was chosen consisting of (49 males and females) from the General Diploma of the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University, the first semester 2017-2018. Through that, the group studied using the proposed program, and the pre and post application of research tools (protective health awareness scale- protective health awareness test- incorrect health beliefs scale) on the research group were applied, and several conclusions were reached. The improvement of the degrees of the group in the post application on pre application in developing the protective health awareness and correcting the incorrect health beliefs. And a negative correlation found between protective health awareness and incorrect health beliefs in the research sample.
